Predictions, Validations or Just normal sayings?

On Thursday, 27th January 2011, we discussed in class about predictions. We were asked to think about this question at home : Has there ever been a time in your life when someone told you that something impropable would happen and it did? Did the fact that the event was "predicted" cause you to behave differently that you would have otherwise and make it more likely for the event to occur? Or did the event simple seem to occur without any audience from you?

Answer : No. I've never came across this situation before. But if I would, and if someone told me that something would happen to me, I would feel quite shocked. I would ask him/her why would he/she said that? I would also be dazed why he/she knows and could predict my future? Well, I'll then be very happy. I would also be hoping that whatever that was predicted came out to be something REAL ! I would do my best to make the prediction be a reality. I would study hard, if the prediction has got something to do with my results or rewards. If what he/she says really occur, I'll feel very happy. Who'll not?

That's all for my post this time, thank you ;D

My first post, 15 January 2011 :D

Hey there ! I think this post should have been posted earlier. I would try my best to do my reflection right after each literature lessons next time. On Monday, 10 January 2011, I learnt about "Cinquain" during my literature lesson. Cinquain is the general term for a class of poetic forms that employ a 5-line pattern. Within the class, there are several forms that are defined by specific rules and guidelines.

They are :

1st line : Noun/Topic
2nd line : 2 Adjectives (Adjectives are words that describe nouns) E.g Beautiful
3rd line : 3 gerunds (gerunds are words that end with _ing) E.g Blooming
4th line : I short complete sentence
5th line : Synonym

During this lesson, I've learnt that Cinquain can be a simple 5 lines poem. Still, we need to be creative and innovative to produce a good one. Cinquains can be written to someone special on certain occasions. Examples are of such occasions wedding anniversaries and birthdays. I would like to find out more about famous cinquains written by different poets that are still appreciated and read by people in this century.I would also like to know whether there are Singaporeans who wrote cinquains that are appreciated by the world.
This is the Cinquain I wrote entitled "Me, myself and I" :
Teenager
Short. Clumsy
Growing. Playing. Learning.
I want to be a good girl always.
Hayati

Apart from that, I also learnt about a great playwright, William Shakespeare. He was well known for his plays and poems. One of the most popular plays that was still appreciated by people nowadays is "Romeo & Juliet". Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written early in the career of playwright William Shakespeare about two young "star-cross'd lovers" whose deaths ultimately unite their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare's most popular archetypal stories of young, teenage lovers.
